The article presents the author’s attempt to reinterpret Bogdan Khmelnitsky’s personality and the reasons for which he led the national liberation movement against Polish national and religious oppression in Little Russia in the middle of the 17th century. Historical facts show that the Ukrainian hetman was not the spokesman for the reunification of fraternal peoples and that he became the leader of the mass protest only due to the circumstances that proved to be stronger than his intentions and eventually led to the Treaty of Pereyaslav.

ТHE SUPPLY OF PROVISIONS OF EXPEDITION ON
THE DON IN THE COMPANIES 1735–1736.

The article considers the key stages of provision of the Don expedition during its preparation and conduct. The issues of supplies of provisions of the don expedition during the initial period of the Russo-Turkish war of 1735-1739 were investigated complexly. The author focuses on the methods of procurement and transfer of provisions to the troops of the Don army. Food and forage to the troops of the expedition, besieging Azov, floated down the Don and its tributaries – first of all in budaries and other transports from the structure of the Don military flotilla.
The problem of provision of land forces of the Don army and naval servants of the Don military flotilla is not enough studied and requires further research.

The article focuses on the scopes, dynamics and trends of trade’s development in uyezds of Tula Governorate in the context of Russian empire inner market’s development in after-reform period. Basing on the Tula Region State Archive’s papers authors have characterized trade in shops and fairs, have shown the contemporaries’ attitude to the development of local trade, and have concluded the statements about changing the structure of Tula market and about the destruction of estate society under the influence of state policy to stimulate the active participants of trade.

The article analyzes the evolution of socio-historical and political views of F.M. Dostoevsky on the example of the "writer's Diary". Questions about the historical ideals and the position of the Russian people, as well as the role of the people in history are relevant in the work of F. M. Dostoevsky. Social conditions after the abolition of serfdom, poverty, originality and identity of the Russian people – these are the main topics for reflection of the writer. The authors come to the conclusion that the writer paid special attention to the role of Russian rulers in the socio-political and historical transformations. Many of the themes of Russian history posed by the writer proved to be very relevant, useful and modern for solving the problem of choosing the ways of development of Russia.

The conclusion is: in conditions of censor qualifications, which appeared because of political chaos, survivability of the regional periodical press come out to be either unsustainable.

The article is devoted to the analysis of sources describing the formation of public sentiments in general, during the First World War (1914–1917). The materials and works of scientists have been examined and studied in detail, on the basis of which a conclusion is drawn about the predominance of factors that are of primary importance and which have influenced the evolution of public sentiments in the Russian Empire. Particular attention is paid to the formation of class disunity, against which the evolution of public sentiments is well traced.

The article deals with the historical experience related to the attempt to organize the activities of penitentiary courses at the General Directorate of prisons in 1917: the main tasks of Their activities, the training program for specialists for service in prisons and the category of prospective students at the courses. Some generalization of the experience of the organization of prison service in Russia in 1917, at the turn of the eras, characterized by the personnel of prison employees in these conditions, will extrapolate the ways of developing human resources in the modern conditions of the penitentiary system of Russia.

THE FORMATION OF MARKET FORMS OF MANAGEMENT
IN THE KURSK REGION
DURING THE YEARS OF "PERESTROIKA": 1985–1991

In the article the primary source material considers the problem of formation of conditions for the implementation of the party-state policy to increase the efficiency of the Soviet planned economy by developing the socialist enterprise of the population. The introduction of economic methods of managing the production sphere of the country, the development of self-financing, production cooperation, brigade forms of labor organization, lease relations, peasant (farm) farms were called upon to activate the human factor to improve the efficiency of socialist management. The basis of the activity was the principle of personal economic benefit, which stimulated active participation in the performance of state tasks.
The paper shows that in the period from 1985 to 1991, the leadership of the region was able to create conditions for the development of market forms of management in the Soviet planned economic system, which ensured its evolution to the market system. However, the victory of supporters of the ideology of market fundamentalism interrupted the evolution of the planned economy into a market economy. At the same time, the market landscape in the region continued to form.

The article is devoted to the evolution of the work collective culture in the USSR and post-Soviet Russia. For the first time the documents on the formation of organizational culture at one of the largest joint-stock companies of Kursk (Kursk plant of tractor spare parts (OJSC Kurskagromash)) were introduced into scientific circulation. The authors tried to show that the corporate culture of the modern companies, such as Coca-Cola HBC Russia, have many similar elements with the work collective culture, formed by leaders of Russian industrial enterprises many decades ago.

The article analyzes the concept of pedagogical culture of the prominent Russian teacher V. L. Benin, who contributed to the development of the theory of pedagogical culture.
The author presents the author's view on the definition of "culture", "pedagogical culture", reveals the relevance of the theory of pedagogical culture from the perspective of translation of social experience, types of pedagogical culture. Analyzed various components of the term "pedagogical culture", the research in four aspects: as a pedagogical component, a social component, the philosophical component and a cultural component. The urgency of the investigation is caused by the necessity to broaden the set of exercises aimed at increasing the students’ motivation to studying Russian.  It is given the attempt to describe our own experience of using interactive exercises at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language which are aimed at activating different types of communicative activities among students and at checking the level of their skills in reading, speaking and writing.   The experience of conducting the distance contest on Russian as a foreign language «We speak Russian» which was held in Kursk State University is analyzed in the article.

Recently, much attention has been paid to the development of online learning quality. The most significant trend in this area is the use of massive open online course (MOOK), which are based on the use of learning videos. This is a relatively young format for the presentation of learning material. In the scientific literature, the study of the effectiveness of video content, its structuring and methods of use is presented poorly. The article proposes the author's concept of using massive open online course.

This article says that higher education, under the conditions of modernization, pays special attention to the training of specialists of state special services that guarantee the security of the state and Russian society. The success of the government tasks for the military specialists training depends on the conditions created in the institutes, the effective application of pedagogical technologies and modern approaches. The author considers one of these approaches to be differentiated-kinesiological (DCT) one, which is used in the process of cadets' mastering the bases of the service martial arts being part of the study of "Physical Training". The author's (V. A. Lebedev)pedagogical model of DCT application is described in the article. It includes the following components: target, content, criterion and evaluative and resultant one. The author reveals the content of the criteria, indicators and levels of mastering the bases of the service martial arts by cadets of a military higher institute.
The given research made it possible to define the fact that the developed, tested and implemented pedagogical model of the use of DCT allowed to raise the ability of cadets to learn information on the basics of the service martial arts to a higher level, to solve complex practical problems, relying on the knowledge obtained while studying " Physical Training" as a subject. The author of the article was able to achieve proper results in the process of completing the dissertation research, to form the necessary professional competencies and the corresponding beliefs on self-improvement for cadets.

An important criterion for health are objective indicators, primarily-physical (or motor) quality: strength, speed, stamina, agility and flexibility. The study presents the comprehensive test’s results, the main purpose of which was to determine the level of development of physical qualities of students of secondary school age.

The paper presents the results of a theoretical analysis of the problem field of adaptation of migrants in the new conditions of life. The author describes the results of an empirical study, which resulted in the identification of four strategies for migrant behavior in the receiving community: the behavior strategy "S-active adaptation", "S-passive adaptation", "S-active negativism to the local population and culture" and the "S -passive disadaptation. "
